How to Trim a Cat's Nails?
Sharpening claws is a cat's instinct, and cats living in the wild do not need nail clipping because of their long activity time and high nail wear rate. However, for cats kept at home, their range of activity will be more limited, if not cut nails for a long time, sharp claws will not only scratch the furniture, scratch people, too long nails will even be inserted backward, causing nail loss, causing problems such as cat nail inflammation! So how do we trim cat's nails?
u Step 1: Choose a location with good light
Cutting your cat's nails is not random, you need to observe the position of the blood line. So first you need to choose a location with good light to cut your cat's nails so that you don't cut your cat's blood line.
u Step 2: Prepare special nail clippers
Because the shape of a cat's nails is different from that of a human, if you use human nail clippers it is easy to cause your cat's nails to crack. So we need to prepare special nail clippers for cats.
u Step 3: Secure the cat
You need to find a position that is comfortable for the cat and place the cat between the two thighs. It is not recommended that owners use violent methods to cut the nails of cats, which is easy to leave a psychological shadow on the cat.
u Step 4: Press the pad to expose the nail
You should gently hold your cat's paw and press the fleshy pad at the top of the toe to fully expose the nail. This makes it easier to observe the bloodline of the nail and less likely to accidentally injure the cat.
u Step 5: Confirm the position of the blood line
In a well-lit area, you can clearly see a pink blood line, set aside a small section of the location and simply cut off the transparent part in front of the blood line.
u Step 6: Snack reward
After cutting your cat's nails, you can appropriately reward your cat with some freeze-dried snacks to keep your cat satisfied, so that the next time your cat will be very cooperative with its pet owner to cut its nails.
