During the hair change season, cat hair is flying around and many parents can't resist the urge to shave their children. Let's first understand the role of cat hair for cats.

In the summer, we all expose our bodies as much as possible to ensure maximum heat dissipation, and cats with thick coats also have their own heat dissipation tricks.

We all know that dogs do not have well-developed sweat glands, unlike human sweat glands that can actively participate in the regulation of body temperature, they are through the tongue out, the use of largemouth breathing, and skin radiation heat. The same is true for cats, except that felines estimate and plan their actions more fully and are less active in the summer, so the act of spitting out their tongues is less common.

Secondly, the soles of cats' feet are also an important part of their bodies for heat dissipation.

In the summer, we often find that the soles of cats' feet are wet, and that is when they are sweating. Cats often lick their fur in the summer not only to clean their bodies but also to dissipate heat better. Many people shave their pets in the summer to avoid the heat, but this doesn't do much for them and can even disrupt their normal physiological routine.

People who like to take their pets out in their cars should also be careful not to lock their cats in the car alone because the temperature in the car is very high in summer and it is difficult to dissipate the heat, which can easily lead to heatstroke in cats.

The skin and coat are a strong barrier for the cat, which prevents the loss of water in the body, resists certain mechanical damage, and protects the organism from harmful physical and chemical effects. The skin and coat have good insulation properties in the cold winter, giving the cat a strong ability to protect itself from the cold. In summer, the coat acts as a large radiator, reducing body temperature.

Cats also have sebaceous glands and sweat glands in their skin. The secretions of the sebaceous glands are oily and make the coat shiny and smooth. Cat sweat glands are not developed, so they cannot participate in body temperature regulation like human sweat glands. Heat dissipation in cats is through skin radiation or respiratory heat dissipation.
